At the end of the press conference, a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum is scheduled, where you can preview some of the works that will be exhibited in Treviso.
The exhibition, promoted by the City of Treviso and Civita Tre Venezie, in collaboration with the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, curated by Francesca Del Torre, Gerlinde Gruber, Sabine Pénot, documents how the subject of Still Life developed in Europe, among the late sixteenth and throughout the seventeenth century. Through 50 masterpieces from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, of authors such as Francesco Bassano, Jan Brueghel the Elder, Pieter Claesz, Willem Claesz Heda, Jan Weenix, Gerard Dou, Evaristo Baschenis, Gasparo Lopez Dei Fiori, Elisabetta Marchioni, which is flanked by some works from the most important museums in the Veneto region. A journey from the sixteenth century to the present through market scenes, floral compositions, vanitas and sumptuous set tables.
A section dedicated to contemporary photography, curated by Denis Curti, shows how the theme of still life is well present in the shots of artists. Such as David LaChapelle, Martin Parr, Robert Mapplethorpe, Nobuyoshi Araki, Franco Vimercati, Hans Op De Beeck.
The exhibition is part of a major project with which the City of Treviso, with the participation of important institutional partners, through art and culture, become the spokesmen in Italy and abroad of food and wine excellences of a territory rich in traditions such as the Marca Trevigiana.
